Antique 1920s Silver and Black Assuit Egyptian Shawl

This is a 1920s silver and black Egyptian shawl. These shawls experienced a wave of popularity after the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922. 

This is a small example and lightly decorated, but is in excellent condition and  little used.

It came from a family collection belonging to Margaret Haig Thomas,  Lady Rhonda, well known suffragette and campaigner.
