This is a late 19th century black Chantilly lace shawl / mantilla. It is a diamond shape, designed to be folded over when worn. Pretty design with dotted ground and flower bouquets. 

There are some small holes and pulls to the plain net ground where the shawl has been folded, apart from this good condition.
