This is a fine sprigged muslin bonnet with lace edged muslin frills. All finely hand sewn with original ties to neck. One darn to back, apart from this good condition. Soft, off-white colour with slight yellowing in places.

This dates from around 1820, there is a similar bonnet illustrated in Costume in Detail  by Nancy Bradfield (Harrap, 1975) pp113-114
