This is a very fine and soft lawn handkerchief with a handmade Valenciennes lace border, dating from the late 19th century. There is a hand embroidered BM monogram to one corner.
Original pale ivory colour. Lace is a darker cream colour than the cotton centre square. Apart from this, excellent condition.
This handkerchief, along with two others that are listed with the same monogram, came from the same French family.
