Victorian Sleeve Darning Sampler 1887

This is a schoolgirl's plain sewing sampler with darns, embroidery, button and buttonholes. Embroidered in red there is a crown, 'VR' and a date '1887', which was Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee year. There is also the young schoolgirl's initials 'EB'.

Darning samples and embroidery are worked in silky eau de nil thread.

Generally good condition, just a little age discolouration in places
