Edwardian Muslin and Lace Afternoon Dress

This is a very pale apricot muslin and lace afternoon dress dating from 1902-1905. It has typical boned stand collar and trailing frilled hemline with tiny button and loop fastenings to back opening. 

Condition generally good, but there are some pale brown age marks in places, particularly front bodice.

This is from the Castle Howard Costume Collection, and still has small label attached. The late George Howard started the collection in the 1960s. The 10,000 piece collection was sold by Sothebys in 2003.

Waist, 28.7 ins / 73 cms

Skirt, front waist to hem 45 ins / 114 cms

Skirt, back waist to hem 52 ins / 132 cms.
