French White Embroidered Cotton and Lace Dress, circa 1910

This is an elegant fine white cotton embroidered dress with bobbin lace inserts to front hem and sleeves. Hand made bobbin lace has a design of iris flowers and leaves. A series of small tucks gives shape to the waist. Fastens at the back with original small pearl buttons and loops. 

Condition generally very good, there are some faint stitching marks to top skirt from an earlier alteration. This is strong enough for gentle wear but would need the addition of an underslip.
