This is a silk embroidered waistcoat dating from the late 18th / early 19th century . It has a soft cotton lining and back panel with two ties to adjust fit. Overall sprigged design with flower garland border. Beautiful soft colours.
Chest measures 98 cms. Neck to bottom hem 60 cms. Stand collar 7 cms.
There is wear with small tear to left side underarm. The right side has a neat cotton replacement pieced in - see photograph. buttons all original - slight wear to bottom 4 buttons.
Collar has wear, paricularly at the back. There is a small damp stain just above pocket on right side. Slight loss to embroidery in places.
