This is a 19th Century fine linen handkerchief with a hand embroidered illustration of 'Bains Boulogne' in one corner. Beautifully detailed surrounded by a wreath of flowers.
Sometimes called 'Grand Tour' handkerchiefs these were made in Appenzell, Switzerland and show astonishing levels of embroidery skill. This one seems to be a direct copy of the 19th Century French engraving.
Good condition.
