Fine cotton embroidered handkerchief with border of hand made Valenciennes bobbin lace. First half of the 19th Century.
One corner has the coat of arms of Count Gabriel Francois (1770 - 1849) and his wife Marie Barbe Elisabeth Becker (1772 - 1849). Coat of arms has a lion and griffon with fleur de lys foliage and a Count's crown. Small embroidered fleur de lys run along the border and the hand made Valenciennes bobbin lace has a design of fleur de lys.
Condition good, just a couple of tiny brown dots.
