This is a silk embroidered reticule dating from around 1830. It is embroidered with silk floss and chenille thread with raised silk muslin applique flowers. Both sides are embroidered with slighly different designs.
The embroidered flowers are remarkably realistic and recognisable as roses, daffodils, violas and forget me knots.
Excellent condition, possibly unused. There is a bag with similar embroidery in the collection of the V&A - T.190-1953
