This is a sample length of fine glazed cotton with attractive printed end. It is from the department store 'Poinsard & Veyret' , Rue Paul Bert, Saigon.
The French arrived in Hanoi in 1873. Rue Paul Bert was at the centre of the French commercial district with French architecture, an opera house and department stores, including Poinsard & Veyret.
Folded length as shown measures 29 cms x 87 cms. Actual length of cotton 61 cms. The printed end has attractive cat illustration and original small label. Slight creasing from storage, apart from this good condition. Perfect for framing.
