This is an unmade beetle wing (elytra) and gold thread embroidered skirt panel. It dates from the mid 19th Century, Indian, most likely Madras. The dark ivory stiff tulle has a triangular panel to the front with a border to skirt edge and an all-over sprigged ground.
Some of the beetle wings are missing, there is some slight discoloration of the net in places, apart from this good condition.
