These woven shawls were the English silk weavers response to the popularity of the imported Indian Kashmiri shawls in the early 19th Century, having the same format of a long rectangular shawl with decorated borders and ends.
This measures 74 cms x 265 cms.
It is in slightly less than good condition with some scattered pin holes and one small tear ( see last two photos). The fringe is worn. Colours a little faded. On the reverse side, the original colours can be seen.
