This is a remodelled collar of late 17th century Venetian raised needlelace.
The lace has been heavily restored with some new brides and pieced in motifs. It has been shaped into a bertha collar in the second half of the 19th century. Inner neck edge measures 98 cms. Depth at centre back 19 cms.
This has been well done, there is a linen tape running along the top edge. Lace is a good pale cream colour and is clean with no visible marks.
