This is a small collection of Honiton bobbin lace motifs - one lily of the valley and nine butterflies.
Honiton motifs were made individually, then assembled later into a larger piece at a later stage, usually by a different worker. At their best the designs were naturalistic and said to resemble the gardens and hedgerows of Devon.
These little motifs are in excellent unused condition and a pale ivory colour. The largest butterflies measure 9.5 cms x 5 cms, the smallest 5.5cms x 2.5 cms.
