A collection of Honiton lace motifs, from the estate of a lace maker.
There are sprays of Convolvulus and Fuschia with two butterflies and two small sprigs. One butterfly is a darker colour with loose wings. Honiton was a 'part lace'. Individual motifs were made separately and then incorporated into a larger piece by a different maker.
The best Honiton lace often featured naturalistic flowers and insects. A Honiton lace maker told me it was 'inspired by the hedgerows of Devon'.
All good condition, pale ivory colour.
