This is a fine muslin applique lace shawl, dating from around 1860. Unusually there are small hand embroidered knots on some of the flower motifs, giving added texture. Pale cream colour.
Length at centre back is 58cms plus 3.5 cms border. Length of neck edge is 50cms.
There are some tiny holes to back neck edge but these are covered by the fold over border when worn. In addition there are some small pale brown age marks, apart from this good condition.
