Dimensions:
This is a Flemish bobbin lace alb flounce. It dates from the 19th Century but is in the ornamental style of the mid 17th Century. Six ecclesiastical motifs include kneeling angels, the Pelican in her Piety, the Paschal lamb etc., between vases of flowers and baskets of blooms. All surrounded by scrolling vines with grapes. A pair of matching cuffs.
Pale cream colour.
Condition generally good. A few small holes to the flounce. Cuffs have some age discoloration - one a slightly darker colour. It was once joined in a circle and, for some reason, neatly cut. Could be resewn - see last two photos.
