This is a French flounced cotton under-slip dating from around 1905. Made from fine cotton lawn with insertions of machine Valenciennes lace decorated with Swiss whitework motifs. Beautifully shaped through clever use of the insertion lace with no seams as such. Additional shaping from two panels of pintucks either side of back opening. Fastens with seven buttons, six of which are original. Deep 'V' neckline.
Slightly less than good condition with several small repairs and worn areas. An area of thinning to one of the back lawn panels. Slight wear to back opening. Very very pretty, could be worn as summer dress with the right underpinnings.
